SENIOR OBSERVER

   EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience and Training running Aram Aries, Vibroseis and/or Sercel Recording Systems.
  • Strong technical background in oil and gas operations and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for applicable jurisdictions.
  • Strong understanding of risk management/case management techniques.
  • Emergency Response experience; and coordination of same.
  • Group Problem Solving, Decision Making and Investigative techniques.
  • Strong communication skills with respect to managing and leading a seismic recording program.
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license.
  • Valid Standard First Aid.
  • Polaris WHMIS awareness certificate of training.
  • H2S awareness certificate of training.
  • ATV certificate of training.
  • Working knowledge of computers (MS Office preferable).
  • Minimum secondary education certificate.

   JOB SUMMARY

  The Senior Observer will lead the Polaris Field Crew with direct reporting to the Recording Crew Manager. The Sr. Observer is responsible for field operations and conduct of all personnel and equipment assigned to his/her crew. 

  The Sr. Observer must understand the program objectives as directed by his/her immediate supervisor and execute these objectives in a safe and cost efficient manner. The Sr. Observer will supervise the operation and organization of the recording crew and is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the recording instruments and quality control of the data.
